French First Division side Lorient made a double transfer swoop on Monday as they snapped up Argentinian striker Sebastian Dubarbier and French defender Gregory Bourillon.
Both players signed four-and-a-half year contracts with Lorient who are ninth in the league table and reached the League Cup semi-finals last week after beating Lyon.
Dubarbier, 23 and who began his career at Gimnasia La Plata, signed from Romanian club Cluj while Bourillon arrives from Paris Saint Germain.
Dubarbier joined Cluj in 2008 with whom he has appeared in both the Champions League last term and this season s Europa League.
This season he has scored six goals in 23 league games.
Bourillon, 25 and a former France Under-21 international, had been at PSG since 2007 but ha…
Rafael Marquez has urged former club Barcelona to look beyond signing centre-back Jeremy Mathieu, who he believes is overpriced.
French defender Mathieu has been tipped to join La Liga rivals Barca for much of the off-season but Valencia s valuation has proved a stumbling block.
Barca sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta confirmed a bid had been submitted, while Mathieu has publicly pleaded with Valencia to sanction his transfer to Camp Nou.
But 35-year-old Mexico international defender Marquez winner of 12 trophies during his seven-year spell with Barca between 2003 and 2010 is adamant new coach Luis Enrique should turn his attention elsewhere following Carles Puyol s retirement last season.
I don t think he has the profile to play for Barcelona and eve…
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he will miss the support of departed football director John Murtough and has emphasised the importance of replacing him.
United on Tuesday announced Murtough was stepping down from the post, having spent almost 11 years at the club in a variety of roles.

John Murtough is to step down from his position as Football Director of Manchester United and leave the club after almost 11 years in a variety of roles at Carrington.

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly closing in on Neymar and the Barcelona star is doing little to dispel speculation.
If you believe reports, French giants PSG are poised to smash the world transfer record by activating Neymar s €222million release clause.
PSG head coach Unai Emery has spoken openly about his admiration for Neymar, though LaLiga side Barca remain confident the 25-year-old will stay at Camp Nou.
But Neymar teased fans on social media as he posted a curious photo to Instagram, with a thinking emoji.

Steven N Zonzi has made it clear to Sevilla that he wants to be sold, club director of football Joaquin Caparros has confirmed.
The France international has established himself as one of the best midfielders in LaLiga since moving from Stoke City in 2015, his composed nature combined with his ability on the ball earning him plenty of admirers.
N Zonzi was strongly linked with a return to the Premier League last year, as reports suggested he wanted to go back to England to be closer to his son in London, though no move materialised.
Speculation has again been rife this year since N Zonzi s participation in the World Cup concluded, with Arsenal, Barcelona and Roma all said to be trailing him, but Sevilla are adamant they will be resisting a sale unless a figure clo…
Jurgen Klopp claims Manchester City could not have won the Premier League had they endured the same sort of injury crisis Liverpool have, and says clinching a top-four spot will mean as much as winning a trophy.
Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for top-flight glory in memorable fashion during the heavily disrupted 2019-20 campaign but it has been a disappointing title defence.
The Reds have been blighted by injury issues, particularly at centre-back where Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez each sustained season-ending injuries and Joel Matip has missed large chunks of the campaign.
Liverpool s struggles were highlighted by a record run of six consecutive home league defeats between January and March, leaving thoughts of Champions League football next term looking fancif…
Wayne Rooney has moved to make former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison his first international signing as D.C. United head coach.
Much-travelled Morrison scored four goals and assisted four more in 36 appearances playing under Rooney in the Championship last season.
A little over a week on from announcing the appointment of Rooney, who stepped down as Derby boss last month, United confirmed the arrival of free agent Morrison on Thursday.
The 29-year-old has signed for the MLS side until the end of the 2023 season, with the option of a further 12 months.

data-mm-id=”_nc96xl7yl”>Super Bowl squares are a great gateway to NFL gambling. Participants don't need to know anything about the teams involved to join in the fun. All they need is a few dollars and the ability to write their name or initials in one of one hundred boxes. Then they just sit back and wait. How Do Super Bowl Squares Work? It's simple. Someone takes a piece of paper and makes a grid of 100 boxes. (That's 10 by 10. If you need help with that, check out this video from the Numberblocks.) Then a dollar value is assigned to the boxes, depending on how serious people are about gambling. A dollar. Five dollars. Ten dollars. The only thing limiting the prize pool is the affluence of the guest list. Serious gamblers may have already purchased a high-price square in…
