Andreas Weimann scored the only goal as Aston Villa beat Stoke City to get their Premier League campaign off to a winning start.
Villa, who kicked off last season with a 3-1 win at Arsenal, had to defend well in the early stages, but looked increasingly threatening as the match opened up.
And Weimann found the target five minutes into the second half, sweeping home a right-footed effort from inside the penalty area a

mid some questionable Stoke defending to secure all three points.
New Stoke signings Bojan Krkic and Mame Biram Diouf failed to inspire a fightback for the home side at the Britannia Stadium, with Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan enjoying a relatively quiet second half.
Stoke lost just three times at home last season, and Saturday s …

The Amsterdam-based club reportedly spent £4 million to lure the 28-year-old forward back to his native Netherlands from Newcastle United.
De Jong played his youth football at for two years before notably breaking through into the senior squad in 2007.

Aleksandar Kolarov’s early goal opened the scoring at the Aviva Stadium and turned out to be the winner for Serbia who will win Group D if they win in Austria in October.
On their own part, the Irish have dropped to third with Wales beating Moldova and will be forced to battle it out until the very end for a chance to grab Russian visa.
Here are the four things we learned from tonight’s match in Dublin:
Serbia Show Grit and Desire to Grab Three Vital Points
It wasn’t always the case with the Serbian national team, but the current side led by the experienced tactician Slavoljub Muslin is showing signs of great improvement.
Having missed out on last two major international competitions – the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and Euro 2016 in France – des…

From a photo mode and a free stage to the return of Lidia Sobieska as a DLC character, there’s plenty for Tekken 8 players to look forward to in the coming days, but Bandai Namco has now also unveiled what it has in the pipeline for later in the year. Tekken 8 is set to welcome back franchise big bad Heihachi Mishima this fall.
For obvious reasons (which we won’t go into for those who haven’t played Tekken 7), Heihachi was MIA in Tekken 8’s base game, other than in several flashbacks, but he’s bound to return to the spotlight, as well as the playable roster, when he releases as a DLC character later this year. Bandai Namco made the announcement at Evo with an appropriately dramatic trailer. Check …
When reports emerged that plans of a combined remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 had been shelved, most feared that the beloved skateboarding franchise had once again been shelved by Activision, though it’s now looking like things might not be so dire after all.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Tony Hawk himself recently took to Instagram with a commemorative post about the same. At the end of the caption accompanying his post, Hawk wrote, “I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series; but there will be a future.”
This isn’t the first time Hawk has teased the skateboarding series’ future of late. As recently as earl…

Marking their return from the international break this weekend, Fulham will welcome Barnsley to Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Fulham might have lost their Premier League status earlier in the year, the Cottagers are tipped as a standout pick to book an immediate return. Managing to really find their feet under new boss Marco Silva, the west London outfit were last seen heading into the international break enjoying a stellar six-match winning run. Continuing to shine with their displays in the final third, the one-time Everton boss will also be boosted by the fact he has one attacking talisman enjoying his own purple patch. Bagging that stunning last-gasp winner as he…
If it’s not enough that Capcom announced the return of Onimusha, Okami is finally getting a sequel. The untitled title doesn’t have a release window or platforms, but it’s directed by Hideki Kamiya, who also worked on the original. Check out the announcement trailer below, which confirms Amaterasu’s return.
The trailer description notes that this is a “new adventure” in a similar vein to the first game. Whether this means Orochi’s return remains to be seen. It may be a while before the title launches, with development recently kicking off under a new studio, Clovers, a resurrection of sorts for the original’s developer.
In the meantime, Okami is available for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4,…
